Day 19

On their 19th day in Bell St Albans, the students from the Mayflower School had a wonderful opportunity to explore the capital city of the United Kingdom. They had a full day trip to London, where they visited some of the most famous and fascinating attractions.

The first stop was the British Museum, one of the largest and oldest museums in the world. The students were amazed by the collections of artifacts from different cultures and periods of history, such as ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, India, and more. They saw the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures, the Sutton Hoo helmet, and many other treasures. They also learned about the history and significance of these objects from the museum guides and audio tours.

After spending a few hours in the museum, the students headed to Oxford Street, one of the busiest and most popular shopping streets in London. They enjoyed browsing through the shops and buying souvenirs, clothes, books, and other items.

The last destination was Madame Tussauds Museum, where the students had fun posing with the wax figures of celebrities, royals, politicians, sports stars, and historical figures. They took selfies with their favourite stars, such as Harry Potter, Beyoncé, David Beckham, Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama, and many more. They also experienced some of the interactive attractions, such as the Marvel Super Heroes 4D cinema, and the Star Wars exhibition.

The students had a great time in London and learned a lot about the culture and history of the city. They returned to Bell St Albans with many memories and stories to share.
